Hamid Ansari, whose term as India’s vice-president recently ended, has been facing flak for his comments about Muslims during his last interview to Rajya Sabha TV. During the course of the conversation while referring to the situation of Muslims, he said, “a feeling of unease, a sense of insecurity is creeping in.”
Actor Paresh Rawal, too, it seemed jumped into the party to take a dig at Ansari. In a farewell message to the former vice-president, he wrote, “Wishing shri Hamid Ansari ji a long and a healthy life so plz GET WELL SOON !”

His last three words in the tweet and the fact that they were in capital was enough for people to conclude that it was a dig at Ansari. This is more so because Rawal is known for his sarcastic and, at times, controversial tweets.
Earlier in the year, the actor had slammed author Arundhati Roy on Twitter for her statements on Kashmir. He had written, “Instead of tying stone pelter on the army jeep tie up Arundhati Roy!” He was referring to the incident of an alleged stone pelter being tied on army jeep. Rawal was later forced to delete the tweet by Twitter.
