The first poster of director Dakxin Chhara’s Sameer has been revealed today. The film stars Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Anjali Patil and Subrat Dutta. The makers have also revealed the release date of the film. It will hit the theatres on 15 September.

Sameer is based around the ghastly bomb blasts in the city of Ahmedabad in 2008. As many as 21 blasts occurred in the city in a span of just 70 minutes, killing around 56 people and injuring over 200.

The poster features the main cast of the film and sets the premise of a gritty affair.

The film was in the news earlier when the Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) objected to a dialogue — ‘Ek mann ki baat kahoon?’ CBFC had demanded that the words ‘mann ki baat’ from the dialogue be muted because it is the name of a radio show by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The world premiere of Sameer was held in May this year at the New York Indian Film Festival.

Ayyub was praised for his performance in Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees. He was also a part of the supporting cast in Kabir Khan’s Tubelight, starring Salman Khan.

Patil is known for her acts in Chakravyuh (2014) and Mirzya (2016).
