Sunny Deol will be seen as the tough cop in the Hindi remake Tamil film Si3, which is the third installment of the Tamil Singam film series.
Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn have created a successful franchise with the action drama Singham. The first film was released in 2011 and the second film in 2014. The two Hindi films were remakes of the Tamil Singam series, starring Suriya, Anushka Shetty. A third Tamil film in the Singam franchise titled Si3 was made in 2017, co-produced by Dhaval Jayantilal Gada of Popular Entertainment Network (PEN) India.
Si3's remake will be directed by cinematographer Ravi K Chandran. Thakur Anoop Singh who played the baddie in the orginal, will also be seen in this film.
Singham (2011) was produced by Mahesh Ramanathan and Reliance Entertainment, while Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty took on the production reigns for Singham Returns (2014). Both films were distributed by Reliance Entertainment. PEN India had produced Si3, and will also produce its Hindi remake.
“Si3 is a Tamil title we produced and released on 9th February this year. It was a super hit. We are remaking it in Hindi. The film is not an extension of the earlier Singham films. Sunny Deol is playing the lead," PEN India founder Jayanital Gada told Cinestaan.com.
The film will go on floors by the end of the year after Deol wraps up his son Karan's debut film, Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas, and his home production Yamla Pagla Deewana 3.
