Shoojit Sircar and Nitesh Tiwari to conduct masterclasses at IFFM!

The International Film Festival of Melbourne will host a series of masterclasses with Indian film makers during the festival. To be hosted by Rajeev Masand, the conversations will be held on varied topics with Karan Johar, Vikram Phadnis, Nitesh Tiwari, Shoojit Sircar and producer Shobu Yarlagadaa. 

While Piku director Sircar will discuss his approach to working with actors to acquire desired results wanted by producers and directors, Nitesh TIwari will explore bringing real life incidents to the screen. Baahubali producer Yarlagadaa will share his experiences on bringing Indian folklore to the celluloid. Karan Johar will speak on 'Directing The Bollywood Dream!' and Vikram Phadnis will address 'Catwalk to Cinema'.

Speaking about the class, Nitesh Tiwari said, "It's quite an honour for me to get to share my views and experiences at such a prestigious event. I am keenly looking forward to it and I hope it will be an enriching experience, not just for the audience but for me as well."

Shoojit Sircar said, "Over the years the Melbourne film festival has really grown, the interestingly part is that the jury is completely Australian which is good for our Indian films as these will be all foreign jury judging our Indian films. I'm happy that Mitu has been the whole and soul driving force for this and she is a good friend of mine. I think it is a good place to be at and a great platform to talk about my films and kind of films I do. I'm  glad to be a part of this festival."

The masterclasses are expected to be attended by people from across all cities in Australia, as well as from the Fiji islands, and New Zealand.

The festival will open with Alankrita Shrivastava's Lipstick Under My Burkha. Other critically acclaimed films like Mukti Bhawan, A Death In The Gunj, Dangal, and Trapped, are also scheduled to be screened at the festival.

The Indian Film Festival Melbourne will be held from 10-22 August, 2017
