Priyanka Chopra's feet aren't hitting the ground. The actress' debut production venture, Ventilator, won three major awards at the recently announced National Film Awards. Directed by Rajesh Mapuskar, Ventilator won awards for Best Director, Best Editing (Rameshwar Bhagat) and Best Sound Recording (Alok De).
The win certainly put Chopra over the moon. She tweeted her joy on her social media account soon after the win. 'I'm so excited, happy and proud! Our first Marathi movie #ventilator won not 1,not 2 but 3.. national awards!! Yay @PurplePebblePic,' Chopra tweeted. Purple Pebble Pictures, founded by Priyanka, and her mother, Madhu Chopra, only started in 2015. Ventilator was the first film under the banner.

It was her mother, Madhu Chopra, who informed Priyanka Chopra about the win. Currently visiting her daughter in the US, Madhu Chopra, woke her up to break the news at 2.30 am. Naturally, the actress was overjoyed, and 'jumped out of the bed to hug her'. Speaking to a daily, Priyanka said, "I always end up being woken up with news of the National Awards in the middle of the night. Invariably, I am in America. I was here shooting for Anjaana Anjaani when I received a call about Fashion (2008)."
The actress added, "I don't know how many actor-producers have won one before, but I am excited to be part of a privileged league. I am really excited about Ventilator bagging 3 honours because it is a movie I wanted to make for my father." Crediting her father as the inspiration, she went on to thank her mother and the rest of the film's crew for their contribution to the project.
We made this film for my dad and I couldn't have done it without @chopramm5 and my production team!75 speaking actors! Well done team!

The actress also shared an old video of her dad singing at an event. On the post, she wrote, "It's the most incredible gift to be born to such wonderful parents. For making all My dreams come true and never letting me settle...My extremely talented, gifted, kind "life of a party" father and my resilient, strong and gentle mother @madhuchopra who is also my producing partner for @purplepebblepictures . I miss u so much dad. What an incredible voice. Always my inspiration. Chopra's father, Dr Ashok Chopra, passed away in 2013 after battling with cancer.
