A source said, "Today the movie was screened for officials from the Censor Board. They have granted it a clean 'U' certificate. Interestingly, Rajkiran made his debut in En Rasavin Manasile (1991), a film directed by Dhanush's father, Kasthuri Raja. That film was released on April 13. After 26 years, Rajkiran is making a comeback with Dhanush's PowerPaandi, which will hit screens on April 14."

The makers of the film have also changed the title to 'Pa Paandi' in order to acquire the 'U' certification. For a film to be eligible for tax exemptions, it requires a 'U' certification, and a 'Tamil' title. This is not the first time directors have opted for a title change. The third installment of Suriya's Singham series was rechristened 'Si III' to acquire the 'U' certification.

Despite the title change, the makers of the film have been using the hashtag 'Power Paandi' in their promotions on Twitter.

The film, which features Rajkiran and Revathy in the lead along with Prasanna, Chaya Singh, Vidhyulleka Raman, Rinson, Dheena, Aadukalam Naren, Baskar, Master Ragahava, Baby Chaavi, Sendrayan in pivotal roles. The film will also have a cameo by actress Madonna Sebastian.

Interestingly, the film will also have directors Gautham Vasudev Menon and Balaji Mohan making guest appearances, along with Robo Shankar and Divyadharsini.
