A picture of an ailing Vinod Khanna went viral yesterday across various social media platforms. It showed the veteran actor struggling to stand on his feet. The news about him suffering from cancer also spread with it. It was enough for his fans and well-wishers to pour in prayers and wishes for his recovery.
But the hospital, in which he is admitted, has now issued a statement saying that Khanna was admitted for dehydration and is responding well to the treatment.
The statement from the hospital read, “The actor was admitted to Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital on Friday with severe dehydration. He is under the care of our doctors and has responded positively to the treatment and is now stable. His family thanks his well-wishers for the good wishes and requests to respect their privacy.”
However, there was no mention whether the actor is suffering from any kind of cancer.
Earlier in the week, Vinod's son, actor Rahul Khanna, had issued a statement mentioning that the 70-year-old was admitted for dehydration. He had said, “Dad was hospitalised on Friday for severe dehydration. The situation was quickly brought under control, he’s doing much better and the doctors are looking to discharge him soon. Our family is most grateful for the extraordinary care he’s been receiving at the hospital and we are touched by all the good wishes pouring in.”
