Actor Varun Dhawan has taken a step back from the raucous world of Twitter. The Badrinath Ki Dulhania star announced on an Instagram story that he would be taking some time off his Twitter activities. However, fans need not worry. The actor mentioned that 'it is not goodbye' to the social media platform completely.

Dhawan is one of the more popular stars of the present generation and has a massive following on the social media platform. However, recent months have seen the actor face a lot of criticism and trolling online.

From statements on nepotism to his gaffe about 'voting' in a non-existent election last year, the actor has constantly been picked on by trolls on the platform. Whether this led him to take a break, turning to the more peaceful Instagram for his social media activities is unknown.

The actor's last tweet celebrated the release of his film, Main Tera Hero (2014). Dhawan wrote '3 years of MTH. A film that changed me and my life @Ileana_Official @NargisFakhri'

Despite the online trouble, Dhawan's recent success with Badrinath Ki Dulhania has marked him out as a consistent performer at the box office. His performances from his debut in Student of the Year (2012) to Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017) have seen comparatively better success at the box office than his peers.

The actor is currently preparing for the shoot of Judwaa 2, the remake of David Dhawan's 1990s classic starring Salman Khan. Judwaa 2 releases in September, and we, along with his fans, expect the actor to be back on the social media platform to promote the first look, posters, teasers and trailers of the film.
