When Lata Mangeshkar inspired Parineeti Chopra in Meri Pyaari Bindu: Chapter 3 trailer

The third trailer of Meri Pyaari Bindu sees the actress sharing her singing aspirations.

The first chapter of Meri Pyaari Bindu showed Bindu and Abhimanyu as kids. The second saw them as college students. The third chapter is just out and it showcases Bindu’s (Parineeti Chopra) singing ambitions.

Bindu was six years old when she got inspired to become a singer after hearing Lata Mangeshkar’s songs filmed on Waheeda Rahman in the classic Guide (1965). And Abhimanyu (Ayushmann Khurrana) got sucked into her dreams and plans. During this phase, they migrate from Kolkata to Mumbai as is evident from the locations of south Mumbai.

This chapter shows Abhimanyu’s flirtatious nature for the first time when he urges Bindu to kiss him. The old world charm is also felt in this one, mostly through the old song ‘Disco 82’ from Khud-Daar (1982), which plays in the background.

In a way, Abhimanyu and Bindu’s characters are defined further in this chapter. It seems the next chapter will show where the story moves from here. Hopefully we will get to know whether this is another story of an ego clash between a successful woman and a not-so-successful man.

Meri Pyaari Bindu is the directorial debut for Akshay Roy. The film is all set to release on 12 May. It will be clashing with Amitabh Bachchan’s Sarkar 3.
