Behen Hogi Teri poster: Will Rajkummar Rao give Shiva devotees the blues?

In a nation where emotions run high, filmmakers ought to be very careful when depicting mythological characters. Aamir Khan’s PK was criticised by a few who felt the content of the film was insensitive, especially the scene where Khan as PK was shown chasing Lord Shiva. Rajkummar Rao will hope that people won’t have reservations with his upcoming film’s poster where he dons the avatar of Shiva. 

The makers unveiled the first poster of the film today, which has Rao, dressed as Lord Shiva, perched on a bike and looking pensive. While Rao’s fans will welcome the fact that he is exploring a new aspect of himself on screen, the actor will hope that this poster doesn’t give Shiva devotees the blues. 

Just like the film's intriguing title, director Ajay K Pannalal has managed to create an intriguing poster too. Perhaps his character may have enacted Lord Shiva in a sequence in the film. This can be guessed from the 'Ramleela Committee' banner hanging on the shutter of a shop in the background.

The bike with a UP number plate is shown parked on a narrow street, with a temple on one side and a mosque on the opposite. Could this story have communal shades?

The actor had earlier released the video of the song 'Jai Maa', which depicted how popular Bollywood songs are tweaked and turned into devotional songs. Rao has even rapped for the track, wherein in the main singer appears to be inspired by devotional song legend Narendra Chanchal.

Behen Hogi Teri is said to be a romantic comedy. Also starring Shruti Haasan, the film is to be released on 26 May.
