Gautham Menon, soon after having been elected as one of the vice presidents of the Tamil Film Producers Council, told the media, "I see this as a victory of the fraternity. This victory will bring the producer fraternity together. It hasn't been like that for a long time and that is why I have to state this in particular. Everybody here looks at everybody else's film as an enemy's film. I have suffered a lot because of this. I, with the help of my colleagues here, will make sure that the fraternity comes together to work as one body from tomorrow. I am extremely happy about the fact that I am working with some great people."
The director's statements also reflect the current mood of the industry which has been divided by the elections. The bickering between the two factions in the election has resulted in a lot of resentment among industry members.
Answering a question on whether he would have time to look into the producer council's affairs while managing his directorial duties, Gautham jokingly said, "I am going to shift to the Producers' Council office. I usually would write my scripts in coffee shops. Now, I think I will have to write them out of the Producer council office."
The director has two main projects with Dhruva Natchathiram, starring Vikram, and Ennai Nokki Paayum Thotta, starring Dhanush, in 2017.
