Spy thriller Naam Shabana, produced by Neeraj Pandey and directed by Shivam Nair, has registered decent numbers at the box office on the opening weekend. The Taapsee Pannu-starrer has earned Rs17.75 crore in the first three days.
The film made Rs4 crore on Friday and saw slight growth in the next two days. It earned Rs6 crore on Saturday and Rs7 crore on Sunday. The first weekend collections of Naam Shabana are in fact much better than the last release Phillauri (Rs13.50 crore), and other films with no big male stars like Rangoon (Rs14.31 crore) and Commando 2 (Rs13.25 crore).
A supporting role by Akshay Kumar may have helped the film get some boost.
The film, which has been made at a budget of approximately Rs25 crore (including publicity and marketing costs), should be able to break even in the next few days. But whether it will earn decent profits remains to be seen.
