Manisha Koirala, the well-known face from the 1990s era, will be making a comeback as the main lead in a film called Dear Maya. But the more interesting part of the news is that she is completely unrecognisable in the movie.
The actress is playing an old lady in the film directed by debutant Sunaina Bhatnagar, who has earlier been an assistant to Imtiaz Ali. A short video of her look in the film is all set to go viral on the internet. It’s an intense sequence with a strong background score and no dialogues.
Koirala is seen peeping through the window of a long corridor. She has a helpless and sad expression on her face. The most striking feature is the wrinkles on her face. This makes sure you need some time to realise that you are actually looking at the Dil Se (1998) actress.
Speaking to a portal, the actress expressed that she doesn’t agree that this film is her second innings. “Well this movie has an interesting script. This is not my second innings. I was always here. And I am around, but yes I will do one film in a year,” she said.
Koirala also added that one has to change with the changing times. “You have to evolve with time. I feel one should age gracefully, tastefully and with acceptance. So that is really important. I feel one should evolve with the time,” she said.
The actress will also be seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanjay Dutt biopic where she will be essaying the role of Nargis Dutt.
The release date and other details about Dear Maya are not out yet.
