Shah Rukh Khan became the first Indian actor to deliver a TED talk on Thursday in Vancouver, Canada. The actor charmed the 2017 TED Conference crowd with his wit and wisdom, playing the 'King of Romance' to the tee.

The actor was invited to the Technology Entertainment Design (TED) conference to share his life experiences with the crowd. This talk comes months before the idea-sharing event is set to make its big debut in India. The Indian version of the show will be hosted by Khan.

Speaking at the event, Khan brought the house down with his charming personality and wit. Calling himself an 'aging superstar', the actor said, "Humanity is a lot like me. It's an aging movie star, grappling with all the newness, wondering whether she got it right."

The actor was at his wittiest best, delivering pearls of wisdom on the spot. Speaking on the growing influence of the internet and social media, Khan said, "We had expected an expansion of ideas and dreams; we had not bargained for the enclosure of judgment."

The idea of Shah Rukh Khan as the perfect romantic did not escape this intellectual conference either. Touching on the topic, Khan said, "I sell dreams and I peddle love to millions of people back home in India who assume that I am the best lover in the world."

Not that he was shy of it. The actor even put on some moves on stage, particularly his famous 'lungi dance'.

The best part of the conference though was a video call with Chinese superstar, Jackie Chan. While Jackie Chan complimented the actor saying, "I have heard so many good things about you," Shah Rukh's compliment really took the cake. "Honest to God, I am so happy. This is the first time I am talking to him."

Shah Rukh went further saying, "When my first son was born, I have never told him this personally, but he looked like you." The actor even offered to change his name to 'Shah Rukh Chan' after speaking to the martial arts superstar.

Closing out the conference, Shah Rukh Khan said, "It has to be you who creates a world that is its own best lover, that should be the future you."

The actor will soon be a part of Imtiaz Ali's untitled project, alongside Anushka Sharma, and will also play a dwarf in Aanand L Rai's next.
