The passing of Vinod Khanna shocked the Hindi cinema world. The actor who died on Thursday was grieved by a number of his friends and co-stars in the industry. Producer director Karan Johar even cancelled the premiere of the blockbuster epic, Baahubali: The Conclusion as a mark of respect to the Khanna family.
However, Khanna's co-star from Amar Akbar Anthony, Rishi Kapoor, is not too pleased with the younger generation's scarce presence at the funeral.
While veterans like Gulzar, Amitabh Bachchan, Randhir Kapoor, Danny Denzongpa, and Kabir Bedi paid their condolences in person to the family, the younger generation was scarcely represented. Arjun Rampal, Abhishek Bachchan, Randeep Hooda, Chunky Pandey were among the few notable names from recent times that attended the funeral.
This has not gone down well with Rishi Kapoor, who took to Twitter to vent his dissappointment.
Shameful. Not ONE actor of this generation attended Vinod Khanna's funeral. And that too he has worked with them. Must learn to respect.

Bachchan, who was in the middle of promotions for Sarkar 3, cancelled his appointments and rushed to be with Khanna's family as soon as the news broke out. Questioning the attitude of 'today's so called stars' , Kapoor wrote 'Why this? Including mine and thereafter. When I die, I must be prepared.None will shoulder me. Very very angry with today's so called stars.'

While Shah Rukh Khan is in Canada giving a talk at the TEDx conference, the absence of Salman Khan and Aamir Khan was keenly noted. Particularly, since Aamir had made himself available to accept an award from Lata Mangeshkar only a few days ago. Salman Khan, who returned from Da-Bang tour of New Zealand and Australia on 25 April, was also in Mumbai shooting for a schedule for Tiger Zinda Hai.
In addition, the return of Priyanka Chopra saw a number of stars attend her homecoming party on Wednesday, 26 April, a night before Khanna passed away. The party saw stars like Sushmita Sen, Madhuri Dixit, Kangana Ranaut and Anil Kapoor, among others, in attendance. Kapoor did not spare any words for them, suggesting it was 'f***n transparent'.
Angry. Met so many chamcha people last night at Priyanka Chopra's do last night. Few at Vinod's. So fuckn transparent. So angry with them.

While Kapoor might be right to have some complaints about the lack of attendance, he defended Ranbir Kapoor, who was also absent from the funeral. Rishi wrote 'my wife and Ranbir are out of the country. Would never had been reason not to be there'
Yes it has been expressed earlier on social media my wife and Ranbir are out of the country. Would never had been reason not to be there

It looks like 'Akbar' is standing up for his fallen brother in the real world as well.
