The grand premiere of SS Rajamouli’s hugely awaited Baahubali: The Conclusion has been cancelled due to the passing away of veteran actor Vinod Khanna. The event was supposed to be held at a suburban multiplex in Mumbai.
The makers informed about this through a note to the media which read, “We are deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved, the legendary Vinod Khanna. The demise has come as a huge shock to all of us. As a mark of respect for our dearly departed, the premiere event of Baahubali: The Conclusion is now cancelled. Love and remembrance - Karan Johar, SS Rajamouli and the entire team of Baahubali.”
The makers had specially created royal never-seen-before invites for the event. These were sent few days ago to the respective invitees. The press screening of the film has also been cancelled.
Khanna passed away this morning at a hospital in Mumbai after a long battle with cancer. He was admitted three weeks ago. The news came as a shock to many because the actor was responding well to treatment shortly after he had been admitted.
His funeral will take place today at 4 pm in Mumbai.
