The film industry was hit by the shock of losing a talented actor and a genial human being in Vinod Khanna. The actor passed away at the age of 70, after a prolonged battle with cancer. He was admitted at the HN Reliance Foundation hospital in Mumbai.
The actor, who had been admitted to the hospital on 6 April, was said to be recovering slightly. So this sudden news has sent shockwaves through the industry. Producer director Karan Johar has postponed the premiere of the blockbuster Baahubali 2: The Conclusion on account of Khanna's death.
Johar tweeted, 'As a mark of respect to our beloved Vinod Khanna the entire team of Baahubali has decided to cancel the premiere tonight. His screen presence is unparalleled even today…his super star swag is what we grew up on….RIP #VinodKhanna …thoughts and prayers…'

Even Amitabh Bachchan, who was in the middle of promotions for his upcoming Sarkar 3, has cancelled his schedule and rushed to be beside the grieving family. Several prominent members of the industry have tweeted and sent their condolences to the family.
The reports emerging suggest that the funeral for Vinod Khanna will be held at the Banganga crematorium in Mumbai.
The actor is survived by wife Kavita, and four children, Rahul, Akshaye, Sakshi, and Shraddha Khanna. The funeral is expected to be held at 4pm today.
