Salman Khan has been hosting Bigg Boss for seven seasons, but that wasn’t the show he made his television debut with. The Dabangg actor made his TV debut with the game show, Dus Ka Dum, that aired on Sony Entertainment Television in 2008. Buzz has it that the TV channel is planning to bring the show back. A report in the news daily, DNA, suggests that Dus Ka Dum is likely to replace The Kapil Sharma show, which has run into controversy following high profile exits.
Dus Ka Dum is the Indian version of the international game show 'Power of 10'. The first two seasons were produced by Siddharth Basu’s production house BIG Synergy.
Reports suggest that the channel is in advanced talks with the actor and, provided there are no issues, the actor will begin shooting for the show in July. The only hindrance to this schedule is Ali Abbas Zafar's Tiger Zinda Hai. scheduled for a Christmas release, the film is expected to wrap up the final schedule in July.
Khan, who currently returned from the Da-Bang world tour across Australia and New Zealand, will resume shooting for Ali Abbas Zafar’s Tiger Zinda Hai. Post Tiger Zinda Hai, there are no projects that the actor has signed on to yet. Salman Khan has long been linked with Dabangg 3, Kick 2, and a rumoured project with Sooraj Barjatya.
If Khan does indeed return with Dus Ka Dum, then it raises the question of whether the actor will continue his 7 year long association with the reality show Bigg Boss, which is hosted on a rival channel.
However, a reliable source from the network that aired Dus Ka Dum has rubbished all the stories. The source, speaking to Cinestaan.com, denied that the network was in talks with Salman Khan for Dus Ka Dum. When asked about the future of Kapil Sharma's show, the source replied," All I can say is that it is just a rumour".
Speculations about the future of 'The Kapil Sharma Show' have been doing the rounds ever since the host, Kapil Sharma, had a public spat with his colleagues on a flight. The incident led to Sunil Grover, Ali Asgar and Chandan Prabhakar leaving the show. The channel has replaced them with other comedians, but failed to replicate the success.
Considering Salman Khan's popularity on television, and his standing with Bigg Boss fans, these rumours will likely persist till he issues an official statement.
