They are just two films old, but there’s something magnetic about the pair of Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar. The duo have paired up together after two years in the Aanand L Raai produced Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. The makers of the film released the first poster yesterday. It didn’t take long for it to go viral.
The poster presents a completely different picture of the pair from Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015). While she played an overweight woman in Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Pednekar looks a completely different person. Having lost oodles of weight from her Dum Laga Ke Haisha days, Pednekar makes for a catchy pair with Khurrana. The film is set in Delhi, and she sports the look of a simple middle class Delhi girl. Dressed in a shirt and jeans, Khurrana too looks fits in with his character as a working class man.
Pednekar tweeted about the poster with the hashtag 'standing up for love' which suggests that the film revolves around two people who fight for their love.
The film is a remake of the Tamil comedy Kalyana Samayal Saadham (2013). Director RS Prasanna is helming the Hindi version as well. The film is set to be released theatrically on 1 September, where it will compete for screens with Ajay Devgn-starrer Baadshao.
