Dulquer to play Gemini Ganesan in Savithri biopic Nadigayar Thilagam

Ending the suspense on who will play Gemini Ganesan in Nadigayar Thilagam, a biopic that is being made on actress Savithri, the team has announced that Dulquer Salman, who has huge a fan base in Tamil cinema, has been chosen for the role.

Interestingly, this film will also mark Dulquer's entry into the Telugu film industry.

As reported earlier, actresses Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Keerthy Suresh will be working together on this biopic on one of the Tamil and Telugu film industries’ most popular stars, Savithri.

Titled Mahanati in Telugu and Nadigayar Thilagam in Tamil, the film will have Keerthy playing the legendary actress Savithri, who, over a period of 31 years in the film industry, acted in 263 films.

Samantha, sources say, will play an important role in the film. However, the team is yet to disclose her character in the film. Shooting for the film,directed by Nag Ashwin, is to commence in May. The team has also announced that actor Prakash Raj will be a part of this project.
