Hollywood action thriller Fast & Furious 8 released on 14 April in India along with Begum Jaan. While the Vidya Balan-starrer has bombed at the box office, the action flick has become a huge success in India.

But it is the difference in box office collections between both films that has surprised many. Begum Jaan had earned a paltry Rs17.64 crore till its second weekend, while Fast & Furious 8 has made Rs77.47 crore in the same period, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com.

The Hollywood film earned Rs66.47 crore in the first week and Rs11 crore in its second weekend. This clearly shows a fall in collections. However, the film has still earned more than double than the Hindi new release Noor, which made a dismal Rs4.60 crore in its opening weekend.

On the other hand, Begum Jaan earned only Rs1.75 crore in its second weekend. As per BoxOfficeIndia.com, the film is expected to earn Rs20 crore lifetime, which is a poor number. The film was not expected to set the box office on fire due to the subject. But it was certainly expected to score much more at the ticket window.

The Hindi film business has been low this year. Now, the Hindi version of Baabubali: The Conclusion, which releases this Friday (28 April), is expected to bring in huge numbers.
