A CRPF man, showing restraint even while being heckled and taunted by protesters in Chadoora area of Budgam district where polls were held recently, has won the hearts of not just the public, but also celebrities across the country. The latest to join the list of those who have expressed admiration for the soldier is actor Kamal Haasan.

Kamal Haasan took to Twitter to shower praises on the soldier who held back despite being taunted time and again and his force.

The actor tweeted, "Integrrate into  India. Shame on those who dare touch my soldiers. Height of valour is nonviolence. CRPF has set a fine example."

Meanwhile, the actor also felicitated his friend Vairamuthu for having won yet another National Award. However, he got the number wrong. While it was Vairamuthu's seventh National Award, Haasan wished him for having won his eighth. Kamal committed the faux pas at an event organised to launch director Bharathirajaa's International Institute of Cinema yesterday.

Kamal also tweeted, "I Felicitate my friend Vairamutthu for winning his 8th National award for lyrics. A record.Text in English so all Indians know. à®Âœà¯Â†à®¯à¯Â ஹிநà¯Âà®¤à¯Â"

The lyricist, Vairamuthu, won the National Award for the song 'Entha pakkam' in the film Dharma Durai (2017).

However, he swiftly realised his mistake and corrected himself. He followed it up with another tweet that read, "Vairamuththu wishpered on stage as I felicitated him. This is my eighth. He meant my praise. I counted 1 more. 7is the no:.Maybe I predicted 8th."

It looks like Kamal Haassan might need to watch out for his gaffes in the future.
