During the recent Baahubali:The Conclusion press conference in Chennai, actor Prabhas made a surprising revelation. The actor, who has shared a close friendship with director S S Rajamouli for over ten years, said, “I have been close to Rajamouli right from the start. Personally, I am close to him. I became his fan at a personal level in just a month. I like the way he behaves with people, the way he talks to them, his nature, his smile and at a personal level, I am a big fan. However, I was not a fan of his films. I loved them, but was not a fan.”

Although it was Baahubali: The Beginning which generated a phenomenal response around the country, Prabhas had already partnered with SS Rajamouli in Chatrapati (2005). The actor also spent 4 years working on the Baahubali project as well.

Giving details of the close bond they shared, he said, “I would become another person while talking to Rajamouli. We became very close. We have been meeting for the last 10 years. Sometimes, we would chat for nine to 10 hours at a stretch. We would meet after 9 in the night and talk until 4 in the morning.

“Eighty per cent of what we spoke was films. He gave me the best book I have read. He would tell me about his personal life and experiences. As a personality, he is always great. However, I was never a fan of his films until now. Even he doesn't know. This is the first time, I am telling him. It is only after Baahubali 2, that I became a fan of his films. I am a Mani Ratnam fan. I am a very big fan of Mani Ratnam. After watching Baahubali2, I have become a big fan of Rajamouli.

But  who comes first? “Definitely Mani Ratnam,”the star shot back much to the amusement of Rajamouli, who was seen smiling.

SS Rajamouli will not be complaining. Baahubali:The Conclusion is scheduled for theatrical release on 28 April.
