Alia Bhatt isn't feeling bad about missing out on National award

Alia Bhatt earned a lot of praise for her performances in Dear Zindagi and Udta Punjab last year but missed out on any recognition at the National Film Awards which were announced recently.

While the best actress honour went to Surabhi CM for the Malayalam film The Firefly, Sonam Kapoor bagged a special mention for her performance in Neerja. Bhatt, though, is not disappointed or sad.

At the Lokmat Maharashtrian of the Year Awards, held in Mumbai yesterday, the actress said, "I am not going anywhere, so it's OK. I am not feeling bad."

The 24-year-old believes she has a long way to go and a lot more to achieve.

"You don't work because you are expecting awards," she said. "All those who won were rightfully deserving. It's a moment to celebrate that Hindi films and Marathi films won so many awards, and so did Telugu cinema. It's great. It's a moment to celebrate talent in general."

Bhatt is waiting for Ranbir Kapoor to complete shooting for the Sanjay Dutt biopic so that Ayan Mukerji's Dragon, in which they star together, can go on the floors. Till then the actress will enjoy her break.

Joking about how she is waiting for Kapoor to give her his dates to shoot for Dragon, Bhatt added that she is really looking forward to his performance as Dutt. "Ranbir's look is really good and I'm excited to see the film," she said.
