Vikas Bahl molestation charge: Kangana Ranaut lauds victim for speaking up

Kangana Ranaut has been appreciated for daring to take on bigwigs like Hrithik Roshan and Karan Johar. The actress, however, least expected that she would have to comment on Vikas Bahl, the director of her hit film Queen (2014). Bahl is currently facing charges of molestation levelled by a colleague.

“I can only say that whoever faces a situation like this... it is very courageous of the woman to come out and speak about it,” said Ranaut at a fashion event in New Delhi.

Ranaut refused to comment on Bahl's case and gave a general statement.

"I’m not a party involved in this (case) but generally speaking, all women who are facing these situations should be encouraged to talk about it. They should talk it out with their families, colleagues. There is nothing to be ashamed of. More and more women should come out and talk whatever they feel. This is how one can create an awareness about such issues," added Ranaut.

Ranaut has been courting controversy over her long drawn feud with Hrithik over her alleged secret affair with the actor. Early this year, Ranaut caused a stir when she cheekily accused Karan Johar of nepotism on his chat show Koffee With Karan.

Later, Johar hit back at Ranaut, suggesting that she leave the industry if she had problems with it. Ranaut then issued another statement telling the filmmaker that industry was not "his small studio" given to him by his father.
