Meri Pyaari Bindu song: 'Haareya' is a melodious riff worth losing your heart to

Composed by Sachin-Jigar, the song is another wonderful addition to the rhythmic soundtrack of the Ayushmann Khurrana-Parineeti Chopra starrer, Meri Pyaari Bindu.

Meri Pyaari Bindu's trailer has already taken fans by a surprise with its delightful touch of comedy and playfulness. With its second song, 'Haareya', composers Sachin-Jigar deliver another proof of their versatility and rhythmic skills.

While the first song, 'Maana Ke Hum Yaar Nahin', was a ghazal with a melancholic touch, Haareya carries within it a very joyous, enthusiastic riff.  While the first song had Parineeti Chopra reminiscing about Ayushmann Khurrana's character Abhi, it is the reverse here.

Arijit Singh is back at the top of his game with a peppy, throaty song to add to his playlist. With a minimalistic accompaniment of bass and pianos, the simple composition has enough in it to keep you humming. The key element is, of course, the guitar, which brings rhythm, pace, and structure to the song. The Punjabi lyrics of the song by Priya Saraiya, and Khurrana's presence bring back memories of his turn with 'Paani Da'.

There is another reason the guitar is the key instrument in the song. Featured on Khurrana's writer character, Abhi, the song seems to be picturised around posters of his story, Guitarphobia. The contrast of featuring a guitar-based song around 'Guitarphobia' is a quirky touch that adds to the atmosphere of the song. The pulp fiction posters, dvds, and books around Khurrana also make for an interesting watch.

Meri Pyaari Bindu is directed by Akshay Roy and is scheduled for a theatrical release on 12 May.
