Actress Kim Sharma has rubbished reports about going ‘penniless’ following her alleged separation with husband, Ali Punjani. She has mocked such reports through a series of tweets.

News about Punjani leaving Sharma to fend for herself started doing the rounds yesterday after a report appeared in a publication. A source was quoted saying, “Ali left Kim as he got attracted to another woman. The irony is that when Ali met Kim, he was plump and not great-looking but now because he is in love, he has lost weight and looking great. But Kim is left with no money or financial security (sic).”

The source quoted also added that Sharma is now trying to establish her own business to make ends meet. “Right now, she is looking to establish her business in Mumbai to provide for herself financially. She is now a brand strategist and goes by the name Kimi Sharma (her real name). Kimi didn’t just leave their home in Kenya behind, but her job as the CEO of Punjani’s chain of hotels as well,” said the source.

Sharma took to Twitter to lash out at the report. She said, “When you spend the weekend raging at #Coldplay and come back to find out you're 'penniless'. She supported her statement with a selfie in her car.

She added, “I can't wrap my head around all these different angles and 'groundbreaking' details everyone seems to know so much about.” She wrapped it up with, “Straight from the horse's mouth - There is much ado about nothing. Next.”

Sharma married Punjani, a Kenyan businessman in 2010 in Mombasa, Kenya. She is known the most for her debut film, Mohabbatein where she was cast opposite Jugal Hansraj. Directed by Aditya Chopra, it starred Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan in lead roles.
