AR Rahman roped in to compose for Sridevi’s Mom

Music maestro AR Rahman has been roped in as the music composer for Sridevi’s Mom. This is the first time that he would be composing for a film starring the veteran actress. 

Rahman doesn’t compose music for Hindi films that frequently these days. His last few Hindi releases include,  Highway (2014), Lekar Hum Deewana Dil (2014), Tamasha (2015), Mohenjo Daro (2016) and Ok Jaanu (2017). 

Mom marks the comeback of Sridevi after the successful and acclaimed, English Vinglish (2012). The film also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Akshaye Khanna, Pitobash (Shor In The City fame who would be next seen in Begum Jaan) and Abhimanyu Singh. 

The film is directed by the first timer, Ravi Udyawar and produced by Boney Kapoor (Sridevi’s husband) and Sunil Manchanda. 

Mom went on floors last year. It’s first poster and motion poster were released recently and they succeeded in impressing the audience. The film is all set to release on 14 July this year.
