Ever since Befikre's first poster came out, it has been setting the internet on fire with its hot smooches. True to tradition, the first song from Aditya Chopra's new film features a lot of kisses, with one condition: No stars.
A beautiful romantic melody, sung by Papon and composed by Vishal and Shekhar, 'Labon Ka Karobaar' features strangers of different ages, genders and classes kissing. Filled with romance and colour, a forte of the director Chopra, the song manages to convey the right emotions.
A special mention needs to be made of the team having the courage to show a gay couple kissing. Vishal and Shekhar's music carries the light frothiness that is balanced by the depth in Papon's voice. The beautiful shots of bridges, sunsets and fountains accompanied by couples in love make this the perfect, romantic song.
The lead pair is conspicuous by its absence. This is strange considering that Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor were the ones promoted furiously through the posters of the film.
The film marks the return of Aditya Chopra to direction after Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008). The director seems to have played all the cards right so far. Yash Raj Films, on the other hand, seems to have taken a cue out of Dharma Production's playbook by releasing a song before the teaser of the film. Either way, the song sets high expectations from the film.
Befikre is directed by Aditya Chopra and stars Singh and Kapoor. The film is set to be released on 9 December this year.
