Confirmed! Amitabh-Aamir's Thugs of Hindostan to release Diwali 2018

Despite being in the industry for three decades, Aamir Khan has never shared screen space with legend Amitabh Bachchan. This is surprising since every actor of his generation and after has had this opportunity. There were speculations that the both might finally be cast together in Yash Raj Films’ next, supposedly titled, Thugs. 

And now, it is official. Bachchan and Khan will indeed be seen together in the film. An official statement from the production house has confirmed the news. They have also disclosed that the film is titled, Thugs of Hindostan. It is slated to be a big budget magnum opus.

The film is directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, whose last film, Dhoom 3, with the same production house, became one of the all time blockbusters. In that film, Khan was cast alongside Bachchan's son, Abhishek.

The rest of the cast will be announced later. An excerpt from the statement read, “The leading lady of the film will be announced soon. Thugs of Hindostan holds more surprises in its kitty!” YRF has also revealed that the film will be 2018’s Diwali release. 

Khan expressed his happiness on working the Bachchan on Facebook, “Finally, the moment I’ve been waiting for has come... to work with my icon, Mr. Bachchan! Thanks Adi, Victor, for ‘Thugs of Hindostan’. I’m too thrilled to be working with the actor I have admired all of my life. Shoot starts early next year, and the release has been locked for Diwali 2018. Can’t wait to get started! Fingers crossed.”
