Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra certainly sets the tempo to his films with some brilliant music. The latest track from Mirzya is a catchy, hypnotic song about love and its complexities. Fast paced and beautifully composed, the song is another addition to what is proving a splendid soundtrack.
The song is sung by the Nooran sisters, Sain Zahoor, Akhtar Chinal and Daler Mehndi. The multiple voices manufacture different wavelengths which merge deliciously into one beautiful song. The 'tun tuna tuna tun tuna' rhythm stays with you long after the song is done. Gulzar's lyrics contain the same magical contradictions that have become a stylistic device with him. Shankar Ehsaan Loy's composition only improves on this combinations. The traditional folk dances are another standout feature.
Mirzya is directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and stars Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher. The film is set to release on 7 October.
