Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher will be seen playing two different characters in two different eras in their upcoming film Mirzya, directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. Apart from playing Mirza and Sahiban in the folklore part of the film, the two will also be seen as Adil and Suchi in the contemporary era.
The actors spent three years preparing for their respective parts. Kapoor, in fact, had to go through a lot of physical training, learn to ride a bike on sand, train in horse-riding, archery and mounted archery. “Lot of people think its [physical and mental preparations] are a parallel thing. But its a simultaneous thing. A lot of emotion comes from the physical. The work that you put in physical helps you get going [with the emotional aspect of the character],” says Kapoor.
Kher, who also put in a lot for her characters, says that it's not a big deal. “Everyone puts in a lot of effort in each film. It’s not a big deal. We both had to learn horse-riding, and I also learned how to ride a bike. I was exciting for me to learn all that, Rakeysh sir also wanted each of our characters to look different from each other. But I feel that the emotional journey for both the characters was extremely demanding,” says Kher.
