Ranbir Kapoor's vulnerability in 'Channa Mereya' leaves you teary eyed

Ranbir Kapoor is the 'heartbreak' kid of Hindi cinema. In Ae Dil Hai Mushkil's latest song 'Channa Mereya', the actor brings his greatest strength to the fore — vulnerability. 

A heartbreaking ode to love and romance, 'Channa Mereya', is sung by Arijit Singh. The song travels through the emotional roller coaster of a relationship. The song manages to convey the bright sunlit memories of a fading romance, even when at its most delicate point. Anushka Sharma looks glorious as the independent woman, while Kapoor, as always, embodies the vulnerable lover. The song follows in the theme of 'complicated love' in Karan Johar's film. By the video, we assume it is dedicated purely to the love story between Sharma and Kapoor's character. The song is also featured as part of a wedding celebration, with Sharma dressed in bridal finery, and might be a pivotal plot point in the film.

Tempered with a folksy rhythm to match the sensitive lyrics of Amitabh Bhattacharya, it is a pleasing tune and sure to become an earworm. The album is setting up quite nicely and might rank high among Pritam's works.
