Most actresses making their debut in the Hindi film industry tend to keep their personal lives a secret to build up a fan base. Saiyami Kher is definitely not one of those. The Mirzya star let slip a confession about her 'love' in a recent interview to a national daily.

Speaking to newspaper DNA, the actress said, "I'm into long-term commitments. I have been madly in love with a guy from my college for nearly six years. We are still young and life has pulled us into different directions. He has no association with the industry. I don't know how the future will shape up, but I will always be in love with him and will try to make it work. I'm chasing him right now."

Despite being quizzed, the actress did not mention the name of the 'mysterious' man in her life.

By the sound of it, the actress is certainly smitten. Considering the big buzz around her film, and the fame that might follow, the task of chasing her love might be a little more complicated than before. But then, she might have got a gist of the difficulties that surround love from her experiences of working on Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's film. Based on the legendary romance of Mirza-Sahibaan, the film has Kher portraying Sahibaan, while Harshvardhan Kapoor plays Mirza.

Kher is also a true romantic. She said, "Love is the most beautiful emotion in the world. It’s essential for a person to grow, because it teaches you so much." The actress is also on a roll, having signed a film with the maestro, Mani Ratnam, right after her debut venture. Kher said, "I have signed Mani (Ratnam) Sir’s Tamil-Telugu bilingual. It was after we had wrapped up Mirzya that I got a call from him. I went and spent time with him, we did some look tests together. I was supposed to start the film, but unfortunately, it got delayed. Now, I am hoping we will start soon."

Mirzya is set to release on 7 October 2016.
