Exclusive: Did Fawad Khan just leave India? Not quite!

Actor Fawad Khan recently came under fire after he, along with other Pakistani artistes, was ordered to leave India within 48 hours (four days ago) by the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), a small party in Maharashtra led by Raj Thackeray. The protests were made in the wake of terrorist attacks in Uri in Jammu and Kashmir by Pakistan-based terrorists, which killed 18 Indian soldiers. 

Since the last few hours, various news reports have been doing the rounds on the internet claiming that Fawad Khan has secretly left for Pakistan owing to the threats issued by the MNS.

However, when contacted, Khan's manager revealed to Cinestaan.com that the actor has been in Pakistan for a while now and did not secretly leave after the MNS threat. Word is that the actor wanted to be with his wife as she is expecting their second baby in October. A source close to the producers of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil also stated that Fawad Khan isn't in India and he left much before the controversy erupted.

The MNS has also threatened to stall the release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which is scheduled to hit the theatres on 30 October, during Diwali, if Khan's scenes are not deleted. Directed by Karan Johar, the film mainly stars Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma, with Khan playing a cameo.
