Bengali filmmaker Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury’s first Hindi film outing has turned out to be a successful one. Pink has reached the Rs50 crore mark at the box-office in India in 10 days, as reported by BoxOfficeIndia.com.

Starring Amitabh Bachchan in the lead, the good second weekend helped the film reach this score as it earned Rs 14.75 crore in it. Its second weekend breakdown stands at – Rs3 crore on Friday, Rs5.50 crore on Saturday and Rs6 crore on Sunday.

Released alongside Vikram Bhatt’s Raaz Reboot, Pink had managed to earn only Rs4 crore on its opening day. But the positive word-of-mouth ensured that it summed up its first weekend with Rs21 crore and first week with Rs35 crore.

As per reports, the film is made at a budget of around Rs35-40 crore. As it is still running in theatres, it is expected to put its producers in safe waters once it finishes its innings.

Also starring Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari and Andrea Tariang, Pink deals with the issue surrounding sexual harassment and the importance of consent as far as physical relations are concerned.
