What did Shabana Azmi get on her birthday? Tickets to Aamir's Dangal 

Shabana Azmi rang in her 66th birthday with a difference. The actress spent it watching Aamir Khan's powerhouse performance in Nitesh Tiwari's Dangal. A biopic on wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, and his daughters, Babita Kumari and Geeta Phogat, the film certainly seems to have made an impact on the National Award winning veteran. 

Azmi tweeted soon after the film, "Watching Dangal is the best birthday gift I could get. Thank you Aamir Khan, Nitesh Tiwari, Kiran Rao, Fatima, Sana … you are outstanding." The film features Khan playing the role of Mahavir Singh Phogat, who trained his daughters in the sport of wrestling. The actor put on upto 95 kgs to play the older part of Phogat. His commitment to the role has certainly worked on Shabana Azmi. 

It is curious to note that Khan did not invite many other personalities for a screening of the film yet. The release his still a long way away after all. But, this review may encourage him. 

Dangal is directed by Nitesh Tiwari, and stars Aamir Khan, Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Shaikh, and Sanya Malhotra. The film is expected to release on 23 December 2016.
