Two different genres, two completely different films, but both Pink and Raaz Reboot met a similar fate on the opening day, barely crossing Rs4 crore at the box-office.

According to BoxOfficeIndia.com, the Amitbabh Bachchan-starrer Pink could only muster around (approx) Rs4 crore net on its opening day. Raaz Reboot, Raaz Reboot, the fourth instalment in the Raaz franchise, fared marginally better garnering around  (approx) Rs4.75-5 crore net. However, competition seems to have hurt their prospects.

The Shoojit Sircar-produced Pink, which released in over 1,200 (approximate) screens, has received widespread critical acclaim, but that hasn’t translated into great opening day collections. As per sources, the film's budget is in the region of Rs35-40 crore.

"The early indication coming is that the two films haven't had a great opening. The opening business for the two films should not be more than Rs3-4 crore each which is below expectation. Raaz Reboot is a complete disappointment. As for Pink, the business should pick up on the weekend through the strong word-of-mouth. However, the growth may not necessarily be substantial," said trade analyst Amod Mehra.

Meanwhile, production sources pegged the opening day figure of Raaz Reboot at Rs6.3 crore nett.  The film’s budget is in the region of Rs30 crore, and it released across 2,350 screens in India.

Both films will need to up the ante over Saturday and Sunday if they ought to have decent box-office collections.
