A couple of days ago news about Vikram Bhatt’s Raaz Reboot leaking online much before the release spread like fire. Hashtags like #RaazRebootLeaked started trending in no time. Emraan Hashmi, the lead in Raaz Reboot, wrote a long, emotional post on his Facebook page urging people to watch the film only in theatres. He also tweeted about the same.

However, the actor has now taken his followers by surprise saying that the film hasn’t leaked after all. His latest tweet reads, “Was just informed that #RaazReboot hasn’t leaked online! Irrespective, piracy is a major prob that needs to be fixed. See u in theatres!”

So, was all the hue and cry about the film being leaked online just a hoax to garner publicity ahead of the release? There are certainly enough reasons to believe so. First and foremost, an important member of a film’s crew wouldn’t officially state such news without verifying.

More importantly, it is anybody’s guess that announcing the news about a film’s leakage would lead to more people downloading it, thereby causing more damage to the film’s box-office prospects.

But there is more room for doubt here. The download site does show links to download Raaz Reboot. However, the size of the file is just 331 megabytes. You don’t need to be an expert to know that the size of a feature film is at least 700 megabytes.

Now, whether the footage will help the film at the box-office will be known only after its release.
