The promos of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Mirzya have indicated an impressive chemistry between its lead actors, Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher, who are making their Hindi film debut. With its latest song, ‘Chakora,’ they take their chemistry few notches higher.

The song is a folk number taking place in the rural areas of Rajasthan. It follows two different scenarios that are interlinked. Kapoor and Kher are seen getting intimate. On the other hand, we see a group of traditional dancers swaying unabashedly to some erotic moves, as if complementing the feelings of the couple. The song seems to indicate an important stage in the couple’s relationship.

‘Chakora’ is another example of Gulzar’s versatility as a lyricist. Composers Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy have given the song a folk touch and at the same time kept the Hindi film flavour alive. Singers Mame Khan, Shuchismita Das and Akhtar Chinnal have succeeded in generating the folklore effect.

Produced by Cinestaan Film Company and ROMP Pictures, Mirzya is all set to release on 7 October.
