The latest song from the sequel features Farhan Akhtar and his band, Magik, recreating the 'Socha Hai' phenomenon in an exhilarating way.

The first song from Excel Entertainment's Rock On 2 is out, and it looks fantastic. Titled 'Jaago', the song features Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal and Purab Kohli recreating the Magik at the Gateway of India in Mumbai. A wake up anthem, the song is also close to Akhtar's heart as it subtly hints at women empowerment, calling for the youth to stand up for their rights.

The song is a throwback to the 'Socha hai' track from the prequel, Rock On, and carries some of its high adrenalin music. Rampal gets to show off his long hair and guitar skills, while Akhtar stirs up the frenzy with his performance. The sight of Akhtar zip lining past the Gateway of India facade makes for a terrific scene. With its blend of inspirational lyrics and some frenzied guitar play, it certainly makes it to the playlist of the year's best hits. Kohli gets into the skin of his cool drummer look with ease too. The song is speculated to be the first live performance of the band since the death of Rob (played by Luke Kenny in the previous film).

'Jaago' is sung by Akhtar and Siddharth Mahadevan, and is composed by the trio of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.

Rock On 2 is directed by Shujaat Saudagar, and stars Akhtar, Rampal, Kohli, alongwith Shraddha Kapoor and Shashank Arora. The film is scheduled for release on 11 November.
