Makers of MS Dhoni: The Untold Story released a new video where one can see the effort and apparent ease with which Sushant Singh Rajput has rendered his performance as cricket icon Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Titled 'Mahiya maar raha hai', the video features the actor replicating some of the more iconic shots in Dhoni's repertoire.
The way Rajput is batting, he might as well have tried for the Indian cricket team with this skill. In an interview, Rajput had said, "There was no way I was going to say no to this role. Once I was on board, I knew I had to prepare and change myself completely for the film. We decided to plan my routine and training accordingly so that once I began shooting, I was more like a cricketer than just a hero." From the trademark long hair to the audacious helicopter shot, Rajput seems to have displayed all the tricks in Dhoni's book in the film.
The film is directed by Neeraj Pandey. The stories of how Rajput managed to get under the skin of Dhoni, and picked up the nuances and his body language have already got fans abuzz. The trailer of the movie als also received tremendous appreciation, solely for Rajput's performance.
The makers had previously released another short making video to depict the transformation.
There are few things that sell as well in India as films and cricket; a good sign for Neeraj Pandey and his film.
