Actor Anil Kapoor could not contain his emotions and cried at the music launch of son Harshvardhan's debut film Mirzya, on late Tuesday night (13 September). The actor got overwhelmed talking about his family's legacy at the event.

The Kapoor family was out in full support of Harshvardhan, their youngest entrant into the movies, at the music launch of Mirzya. Apart from father Anil, sister Sonam, his grandmother, uncles Boney and Sanjay and aunts Sridevi and Maheep, and other members of the Kapoor khandaan were present to cheer Harshvardhan on.

Saiyami Kher's aunt Tanvi Azmi, Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi were also present.

It was an emotional day for both film families, and the moment really got to Anil when he took to the stage to talk about Harshvardhan's debut.

The 59-year-old actor couldn't hold back his tears as he spoke about his son. "I know people are very apprehensive about star sons, but I can assure you that with Harsh, whatever he has done he has done on his own. He got this film on his own. He believes he is different and so don't expect anything like me from him. And that's what his strength is," said Anil.

"I just want to say to all my friends in the media, the industry, my family, thank you for always showering me with love. My entire family has given blood and sweat to this business... Never made compromises, no scams, only made enough money and gave everything to this show business. Whatever love and affection you have given me for so many years, I want you to give it now to my son."

The music launch was an entertaining event with each song from the film being showcased. The videos of most of the songs were shown and there were some terrific performances too. Gulzar recited some of the lines he has written while Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Siddharth Mahadevan, and Daler Mehndi performed at the event.
