Debutant filmmaker Nitya Mehra’s Baar Baar Dekho seemed to have everything going for it before release. The first trailer and the song ‘Kala Chashma’ created a positive buzz among cine-goers. So, the film was expected to take a positive opening.
Unfortunately, that did not happen and the film ended up collecting only Rs22.25 crore over its first four days at the ticket counters. The film was reportedly made on a budget of Rs50 crore. Hence, it was imperative for it to perform decently in the first week to stand any chance of recouping its cost. But that does not look likely now after it managed to earn only Rs2.25 crore on Monday, as reported by BoxOfficeIndia.com.
The partial holiday in some parts of India did not help the film's cause in any way. Now, Baar Baar Dekho is likely to fall in the bracket of films that earned less than Rs30 crore in the first week, which is too low considering the size of its budget.
Produced by Dharma Productions and Excel Entertainment, the film stars Sidharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif in the lead.
