Freaky Ali scores below par on weekend, makes Rs7.25 crore net

Sohail Khan's golf comedy with Nawazuddin Siddiqui seems to be headed the same way as his previous, TE3N and Raman Raghav 2.0.

All of Nawazuddin Siddiqui's acting class and talent do not seem to have done his Freaky Ali any good. The film has managed to make only Rs7.25 crore net on the weekend, which is a very low total. The collections are better than Siddiqui's Raman Raghav 2.0, which managed only Rs3.84 crore on the first weekend, respectively. TE3n, on the other hand, had brought in a collection of Rs11.13 crore on the first weekend. However, it does not spell good returns for Freaky Ali, since both of Siddiqui's previous films were washed out of the box-office soon.

The trouble with Freaky Ali is that Siddiqui's reputation as a character artist seems to be impeding his comic, commercial role in the film. The first weekend collections of the film are as follows

Friday - Rs1.75 crore
Saturday - Rs2.50 crore
Sunday - Rs3 crore

The film is expected to see a slight jump on Monday, due to a holiday declared for Bakri Eid in certain circuits. However, it is unlikely that it might add greatly to the film's eventual collections.
