Priyanka Chopra ventured into production with the Bhojpuri movie Bam Bam Bol Raha Hai Kashi, which released earlier this year. Her next as producer, under the banner Purple Pebble Pictures, is the Marathi flick Ventilator.
To cash in on Ganesh Chaturthi next week, the makers have released a couple of Ganpati songs from the film, 'Ya Re Ya’ and ‘Jai Deva', much before the trailer. Both songs have been composed by Rohan Gokhale and Rohan Pradhan, who are jointly known as Rohan, Rohan.
‘Ya Re Ya’ is an invocation song sung soulfully by Rohan Pradhan. It’s a more traditional number with continuous use of the manjira. This is the type of song that is mostly heard at small roadside temples.
‘Jai Deva’ is more of a fun number used during Ganesh Visarjan. So, fast dhol sounds and the banjo are used a lot. But the composers have smartly included bhajan lyrics too. The song suddenly goes into a high tempo at the end, bringing back memories of the Ajay-Atul classic ‘Deva Shree Ganesha’ from Agneepath. 'Jai Deva' is sung by Ganesh Chandanshive, Rohan Gokhale and Rohan Pradhan.
If both songs are retained, Ventilator will become one of the rare films to have two Ganpati songs. The film is directed by Rajesh Mapuskar of Ferrari Ki Sawaari (2012) fame.
