Kangana Ranaut steps into Simran's shoes

Kangana Ranaut has had a busy week. Even as the buzz around her recent comments about Hrithik Roshan continues, the actress has immersed herself in work. She landed in the USA recently to launch Hansal Mehta's next film, Simran. 

The pictures, uploaded by the actress's sister Rangoli, show Ranaut in casual attire at the location. Director Mehta and casting director Mukesh Chhabra can also be seen in the pictures. 

Simran is reportedly the story of an ordinary Gujarati housewife in the US who finds herself caught in the world of crime. Ranaut is expected to play Praful Patel, the protagonist. This is the first time Ranaut is teaming up with National award-winner Mehta. Mehta's previous film, Aligarh, won accolades for its sensitive portrayal of a homosexual man's life.
