Actress Nargis Fakhri's first career choice didn't quite go well for her. Fakhri had tried her luck at modelling when she auditioned for television show America’s Next Top Model 11 years ago. This was her second successive attempt at finding a foothold in the American fashion scene.
Archival footage from the show went viral and fans couldn’t help but laugh at the antics of Fakhri then.
Nerves got the better of the 24-year-old as she fumbled while introducing herself. Remarkably, before judges Tyra Banks and J Manuel could say anything, an embarrassed Fakhri declared that she could be America’s Next Top Model if only she could speak right.
Later, Fakhri declared that this was her second successive attempt at the show. The judges seemed stunned as Fakhri didn’t know any supermodel nor had any favourite, and purely looked at the show as a 'job'.
Her lack of confidence resulted in her not making it to the list of 12 chosen contestants.
