The veteran actor emotionally appealed to the Indian Army to punish him.

Veteran actor Om Puri has been in the news for more than a day for his remarks during a TV show against an Indian soldier who was martyred while fighting terrorists at the LoC (Line of Control). The actor has been continuously facing hateful comments on social media for allegedly insulting the soldier and his family.
Later in the day, a sedition case was also filed against the actor at Mumbai’s Andheri police station.
But late yesterday night, Puri profusely regretted making such comments, while speaking to a TV channel. Not just that, the actor also went onto say that he wants the Army to punish him and send him on the site where the soldier passed away while fighting.
He said, “I am guilty and I deserve punishment. I want to be tried by the Army. I should be court-marshalled. I want a constructive punishment. The Army should teach me how to use weapons and send me on the same site where that brave man sacrificed himself for the country. I don’t want to be forgiven. I am pleading to the nation I want to be punished.”
However, his emotional appeal has had no effect on the twitterati.
