When SS Rajamouli and Amitabh Bachchan shared screen space

Amitabh Bachchan is currently busy shooting Sarkar 3. Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, the film is the third instalment in the Sarkar series. The first film, which released in 2005, became a sensation of sorts after it gained huge appreciation. However, three years later, Sarkar Raj, the second instalment, was met only with an average response. 

Last week, Varma surprised everyone when he revealed the cast of the third film. In fact, the film has already gone on floors. But yesterday, it was Bachchan and Varma’s turn to be surprised; rather, pleasantly surprised. 

SS Rajamouli, the man behind the iconic Baahubali, turned up on the sets of Sarkar 3. Bachchan and the Satya filmmaker were obviously delighted. The Shehanshah tweeted his picture with the director with the caption, “The genius director Rajamouli of that colossal film ‘Bahubali’ on set of SARKAR 3 .. a simple humble man !!” The picture also happens to be the first shooting still of the film. 

Varma too shared one picture from the unplanned event on Facebook and said, “The Bahubali of filmmaking with the Bahubali of acting on the sets of Sarkar 3.” 

There is high excitement for the next part of Baahubali titled Baahubali: The Conclusion.

The first motion poster of the film was released a few days ago in Mumbai at the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival amid much fanfare. Along with the director, actors Prabhas, Tamannah and Anushka Shetty and producer Shobhu Yarlagadda attended the launch.
